Vote YES for Denville is an organization of residents concerned about the quality of public schools that make our community a great place to live.  Our grassroots movement started in early 2007, when a concerned resident attended Board of Education meetings and shared her notes about the budget constraints and over-crowded conditions in our K-8 schools.  The news spread quickly from friend to friend, neighbor to neighbor.

In 2008, we created Vote YES for Denville to encourage the entire community to learn the facts and vote YES for the annual school budget on April 15.  So far, more than 540 people rely on our e-mail updates for balanced and accurate information.  Our goal is to inform even more people through this Web site.

The logic behind the annual school budget is clear and complete:  we need to fund a quality education that includes robust reading and math programs and enough teachers to instruct our children.  Like any household or business, we need to pay for the increasing costs of energy and transportation.  And, we need to make the minimum repairs to our aging facilities.  When our schools are strong, everyone benefits from higher property values.

The vote for the annual budget vote on April 15 is completely separate from the referendum for a new middle school.  Upcoming public meetings will give you a chance to learn more about the benefits and cost of the new school.

Again, we urge all of our friends and neighbors to learn the facts and vote YES for the school budget on April 15.
